SFL Convention — Call for Delegates
URFA is looking for up to four members to represent our union at the upcoming Speaking Out! 66th Annual Saskatchewan Federation of Labour Convention — and we want you to be one of them!
What is the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour (SFL)?
The SFL represents over 100,000 union members from 37 unions across Saskatchewan, including our 1,500+ members at URFA!
The SFL serves as Saskatchewan’s “voice of working people” on local, provincial, and national issues like OH&S, pensions, labour standards, minimum wage, equal pay, and childcare. The SFL also plays a role representing workers with government and lobbying for legislation to improve human rights, poverty, medicare, income inequality, and more.
What is the SFL Convention?
The 66th Annual SFL Convention will be held October 26 – 28, 2022 in Regina. Click here for the Convention Call.
This exciting event is a unique opportunity to be in the room with working people from different backgrounds and sectors, debate important issues facing workers, and make decisions about which campaigns and issues Saskatchewan’s labour movement will focus on for the coming year.
At a time when the post-secondary education sector is facing so many big issues, it’s important that we have a strong presence at this Convention — to educate others about what we’re facing and to support workers fighting for change in other sectors.
Who can attend?
URFA can send up to four delegates to this Convention — it doesn’t matter how much union or work experience you have, any member is eligible to apply.
All expenses are paid and we will help you arrange for time off work to attend.
If you’re interested in representing URFA at the SFL Convention (or have any questions) please email the URFA office at urfa@uregina.ca by 12:00 p.m. on Monday August 15th, 2022.
We hope to see you there!
