Ratified — New collective agreement for FNUniv APT members!
Thank you to everyone who voted in the First Nations University — APT bargaining unit ratification vote! With a 100% voter turnout, we were able to close the voting period early, and can now announce the results.
It is our pleasure to announce that the new collective agreement has been ratified and will come into force immediately.
The new collective agreement includes:
- 11% pay increase over 5 years — with retro pay for eligible members (Appendix A)
- Addition of September 30 — National Day for Truth & Reconciliation to statutory holidays (Article 18)
- Addition of 3 wellness days per calendar year that may be taken from sick leave bank (Article 19)
- Increase of pension contributions to 8% for both parties (Article 33)
- Increase to Flexible Spending Account (Article 33)
- Basic remote work language (Appendix H)
- And more
Members can review all of the changes here.
We have some housekeeping to complete with the new documents, however once that is done and they are signed, we will distribute copies of the new collective agreement to members, and a digital copy will be available publicly on our website.
URFA’s Executive Committee wants to extend our sincere thanks to the members of the First Nations University — APT bargaining team: Candace Cappo, Lisa Bighead, Cory Gauthier, and Colin Tether.
This agreement would not have been possible without their hard work and commitment to creating a stronger workplace.
