Ratified — New collective agreement for Campion Academic members!
URFA is pleased to announce that the new Campion Academic Collective Agreement has now been ratified by all parties. The new collective agreement came into effect immediately upon ratification and members should have already received any eligible retro pay.
Highlights of the new collective agreement are as follows:
- 13% increase to salary
- new caregiver fund of $4000 to help offset the costs for children to accompany faculty members for work-related travel or for respite care for elders (taxable benefit)
- improvements to academic freedom language
- sessional stipends increase from $32/hour to $35/hour
- increase from 80% to 90% of salary for sabbaticals
- increase from $900 to $1200 for the Flexible Spending Account
- increase from $2500 to $3000 for your APEA
- increase from $2000 to $2500 for the Faculty Travel Fund
- addition of Truth and Reconciliation Day to the list of holidays
- improvements to work-life balance, including that members shall not be required to teach outside the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday to Friday) without their explicit approval, and recognizing the constraints of research, eldercare, and childcare in scheduling
