Ratified — New collective agreement for Campion Academic members!

URFA is pleased to announce that the new Cam­pi­on Aca­d­e­m­ic Col­lec­tive Agree­ment has now been rat­i­fied by all par­ties. The new col­lec­tive agree­ment came into effect imme­di­ate­ly upon rat­i­fi­ca­tion and mem­bers should have already received any eli­gi­ble retro pay.

High­lights of the new col­lec­tive agree­ment are as follows:

  • 13% increase to salary
  • new care­giv­er fund of $4000 to help off­set the costs for chil­dren to accom­pa­ny fac­ul­ty mem­bers for work-relat­ed trav­el or for respite care for elders (tax­able benefit)
  • improve­ments to aca­d­e­m­ic free­dom language
  • ses­sion­al stipends increase from $32/​hour to $35/​hour
  • increase from 80% to 90% of salary for sabbaticals
  • increase from $900 to $1200 for the Flex­i­ble Spend­ing Account
  • increase from $2500 to $3000 for your APEA
  • increase from $2000 to $2500 for the Fac­ul­ty Trav­el Fund
  • addi­tion of Truth and Rec­on­cil­i­a­tion Day to the list of holidays
  • improve­ments to work-life bal­ance, includ­ing that mem­bers shall not be required to teach out­side the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Mon­day to Fri­day) with­out their explic­it approval, and rec­og­niz­ing the con­straints of research, elder­care, and child­care in scheduling
